A Ranchi cab company that actually knows Ranchi
We started with two cars and one rule: never quote a fare we wouldn't pay ourselves. 7 years and 640-plus rides later, that rule still runs the place.
Raahi Saarthi is a cab service and travel company based in Ranchi, Jharkhand, operating since 2019. It runs Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) and railway station transfers, local sightseeing in Ranchi, one-way and round-trip outstation cabs across Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh, and tour packages to Netarhat, Betla, Patratu, Deoghar and the waterfall circuits. All fares are fixed and all-inclusive, and payment is taken after the ride.
The name
In the Mahabharata a saarthi is not merely someone who drives the chariot - he knows the road, reads the timing, and offers counsel. A raahi is the traveller. Our whole job sits in that relationship: you decide where you want to go, we handle how - which road, when to leave, where to stop, and what it costs.
The company started in 2019. The founder, who grew up in Doranda, was helping a cousin's family book a cab to Netarhat - and watched three different aggregators quote three different fares in one evening. Surge pricing, hidden "driver bhatta", mystery night charges. The family cancelled the trip.
That weekend our first car - a second-hand Dzire - drove that same family to Magnolia Point for the Netarhat sunset. Fixed fare. No surge. A driver who knew exactly where on the ghat road to stop for tea.
Today it is a fleet of 30-plus cars covering every PIN code in Ranchi, every hairpin down to Patratu, every waterfall in the radius, and every intercity route from Patna to Jamshedpur. The rule has not changed.

Local beats algorithmic
An app can compute the shortest path. It cannot tell you which dhaba on the Patratu ghat makes the best aloo paratha. We can.
Honest fares, every time
What we quote is what you pay. Tolls, parking, fuel, GST - all baked in. No surprises from the driver's side.
Drivers are the company
We pay drivers fairly, train them in working English, and run background checks. They are not gig workers - they are the business.
