Deoghar + Basukinath from Dhanbad - itinerary, price and pickup points
The Deoghar tour package from Dhanbad covers Baba Baidyanath Dham and Basukinath in one 320 km day, takes about thirteen hours door to door, and starts at ₹4,299 for a sedan carrying four passengers, all-inclusive of fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance.
Dhanbad is the closest big city to Babadham - 132 km, about three hours - and that single fact is why this package can do in one day what Ranchi needs two for. Baidyanath by 09:30, Basukinath by 13:00, home for dinner. Nothing about the day is rushed, nobody sleeps in a strange bed, and there is no hotel bill at the end of it. The car starts at your own door in Dhanbad, so you are not paying for a Ranchi vehicle to drive across the state before your trip even begins.
What this package covers
- Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga darshan by 09:30, before the day builds up
- Basukinath Dham - 45 km on, the temple that completes the pilgrimage
- Naulakha Mandir and the Shivganga tank
- Both temples in one day, which no origin further than Dhanbad manages comfortably
- Home in Dhanbad the same night - no hotel bill

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Deoghar tour package from Dhanbad cost?
Raahi Saarthi's Deoghar package from Dhanbad starts at ₹4,299 for a sedan seating four, ₹5,299 for an Ertiga SUV seating six, ₹6,399 for an Innova Crysta seating seven and ₹9,499 for a 12-seat Tempo Traveller. That is the whole package, not per person, and it covers the cab, fuel, tolls, parking, driver allowance and 5% GST for a full day including Baidyanath and Basukinath. Meals and any temple offering are yours.
Can Baidyanath and Basukinath both be covered in one day from Dhanbad?
Yes, comfortably - this is the main reason to start from Dhanbad rather than Ranchi. The full loop is about 320 km: Dhanbad to Deoghar 132 km, the local circuit, Basukinath 45 km further and then the run home. Leave at 05:00 and you are back by about 19:00 with both darshans done. From Ranchi the same day would be over 600 km, which is why we sell that as a two-day package.
How far is Deoghar from Dhanbad and which is the best route?
Deoghar is about 132 km from Dhanbad - the Deoghar district administration's own figure - and 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes by cab. The route runs out on the six-lane GT Road to Govindpur, then north on NH-419 through Narainpur and Jamtara, joining NH-114A near Sarath. Only the first 15 km is wide highway; the rest is two-lane through villages, so leaving before 06:00 makes a real difference to the time.
Do you pick up from Jharia, Sindri and Katras as well?
Yes. Raahi Saarthi picks up anywhere in the Dhanbad district - Bank More, Hirapur, Saraidhela, Bartand, Dhanbad Junction, Jharia, Katras, Sindri, Govindpur or a house address in a colony - at no extra charge. Give the landmark when booking. Pickups from Govindpur and Barwa Adda are on the route anyway, so those cost nothing extra by definition.
Why is your fare higher than the ₹1,000 quotes I see online?
Because those are fare-only quotes for a one-way drop, and the road costs come back to you at the end. A ₹1,000 or ₹1,500 Dhanbad-Deoghar quote typically excludes tolls, parking, the driver's allowance and GST, and covers one direction rather than a full day with a car waiting through two darshans. Raahi Saarthi's ₹4,299 is a whole day, both temples, everything on the road already paid, and a printed GST invoice at the end. Our own one-way drop, for comparison, is ₹2,099.
