Tour packages from Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro & Jamshedpur - Jharkhand, Deoghar and Puri
Every package below carries a day-by-day itinerary, explicit inclusions and exclusions, and one fixed all-inclusive price for the cab side. All of them are templates - change the car, add a destination, extend a night, and we requote.
Raahi Saarthi runs 17 tour packages from 4 pickup cities - Ranchi, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur - starting at ₹2,099. A Patratu Valley day trip is ₹2,299, the three-waterfall day tour ₹2,999, a one-day Baba Baidyanath Dham darshan from Ranchi ₹6,499, the same trip from Dhanbad ₹4,299, Netarhat over two days ₹6,499, and Puri with Konark over three days ₹15,999. Every price covers the cab, fuel, tolls, parking, inter-state permits and driver allowance; hotels and meals are separate.
The one package we recommend above all others. Netarhat is the only true hill station in Jharkhand, and the whole point of it is a sunset at Magnolia Point and a sunrise the next morning - which a same-day trip physically cannot give you. Two days splits the 8-10 hours of round-trip driving so neither day is rushed, and puts Lodh Falls, the highest waterfall in the state, within reach on the return.
Three of Jharkhand's best-known waterfalls in a single day, in the only order that actually works. Hundru first while the light is still low and the stairs are empty, Jonha at midday when the pool is warmest, and Dassam last because it is closest to Ranchi on the way home. Most operators run this route backwards and people end up climbing Hundru's 745-odd steps in the afternoon heat.
The shortest genuinely spectacular drive out of Ranchi, and the one we send people on when they have exactly one free afternoon. Forty kilometres out along the Kanke-Pithoria road, about a dozen hairpin switchbacks, and a reservoir sitting in a bowl of forested ridgeline. Timed properly it is an afternoon trip, not a morning one - the light on the valley is worth waiting for.
Jharkhand's western circuit done properly: a tiger reserve and a hill station that sit only about 93 km apart and are almost always visited separately, at the cost of two long drives from Ranchi instead of one. Three days gets you an afternoon and a morning safari at Betla, the forest-road drive across via Garu, both Netarhat viewpoints, and Lodh Falls on the way home.

Baba Baidyanath Dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and by tradition the visit is incomplete without Basukinath, 45 km further on - Baidyanath is where you present the plea, Basukinath is where it is answered. Trying to do both from Ranchi in a single day means twelve hours of driving around a darshan queue you cannot control. Two days makes it a pilgrimage instead of an endurance test, and it puts darshan on the evening of day one, when the queue is at its shortest.
Everything inside Ranchi in one 8-hour package, sequenced so you are climbing Pahari Mandir's 468 steps in the cool of the morning and not at noon. This is the package for anyone in the city for a conference or a wedding with one free day, and for parents showing visiting relatives around.
The full circuit: a Jyotirlinga, a Shakti Peeth, and the holiest site in Jainism, in the order that keeps the driving sane. Four days is the minimum this needs - Shikharji alone is a 27 km round of the summit shrines (9 km up, 9 km along the ridge, 9 km down) that eats a full day, and Deoghar's darshan queue is unpredictable enough that you want a buffer.
Two destinations joined at Ramgarh, done in the only sequence that gets you Patratu at sunset. Hazaribagh in the morning for Canary Hill and the lake, then back south through Ramgarh and Bhurkunda to the Patratu reservoir, and up the Patratu Ghati hairpins as the light turns. It is a long day - about twelve hours door to door - but it is the most ground you can cover from Ranchi without an overnight.
An unusual itinerary and one of our favourites: the belt that built modern India, plus the lakes and dams that sit right beside it. Bokaro's zoo and steel plant, Dhanbad's coalfields, Topchanchi's wooded lake, and Maithon's island reservoir. It suits people who have already done the waterfalls and want to see the other Jharkhand.

For the people who cannot take a second day off. A 04:00 pickup puts you at the Baidyanath gate by about 10:00, which lands in the late-morning lull between the dawn rush and the afternoon closing - the best darshan window a same-day trip can reach. You get the main temple, Naulakha and the Shivganga tank, and you are home in Ranchi by about 22:00. What you do not get is Basukinath: it is 45 km the wrong way and the pilgrimage traditionally needs it, which is the one honest reason to consider the two-day package instead.

Dhanbad is the closest big city to Babadham - 132 km, about three hours - and that single fact is why this package can do in one day what Ranchi needs two for. Baidyanath by 09:30, Basukinath by 13:00, home for dinner. Nothing about the day is rushed, nobody sleeps in a strange bed, and there is no hotel bill at the end of it. The car starts at your own door in Dhanbad, so you are not paying for a Ranchi vehicle to drive across the state before your trip even begins.

From Bokaro the day is longer than from Dhanbad but still fits inside one: 170 km up, both temples, and back the same night. The catch is the first 45 km, Chas to Dhanbad through the Jharia coal belt, which no route planner accounts for properly - coal trucks, dust and slow traffic around Sijua and Katras. We deal with it by leaving at 04:30, before the belt wakes up, which turns a four-hour drive into three and a half and buys the time back at the temple.

Jamshedpur is about 290 km from Babadham and the short road spends about 65 km of that inside West Bengal, around Balarampur and Purulia. Six and a half to seven hours each way is not a day trip by any honest measure - it would buy you two hours at a temple whose queue you cannot control - so we only sell Jamshedpur as two days. That buys the evening darshan on day one, when the queue is shortest, and leaves day two for Basukinath and the Deoghar circuit before the drive home.

For one month of the year Deoghar stops being a town you drive into. Shravani Mela brings fifty to fifty-five lakh pilgrims in thirty days - the district administration calls it the longest religious fair in the world - and the whole road system around the temple is rebuilt for people on foot. No vehicle gets near the shrine, the queue has run to ten kilometres on a Shravan Monday, and all VIP and out-of-turn darshan is abolished. This package exists because the trip is still worth making, and because you should be told all of that before you book rather than after.

The long-weekend version, and we will be straight about its shape: two of the three days are driving days. Ranchi to Puri is 512 km on the short road through Chaibasa and Keonjhar, eleven to twelve hours in the car, and the same coming back. What sits between them is one very full day - Jagannath darshan at first light, Golden Beach, the Marine Drive to Konark and the Sun Temple. If that trade is worth it to you, this is the cheapest honest way to stand in front of the Jagannath temple. If it is not, the 4-day version costs ₹4,000 more and gives you an entire second day in Puri.

Odisha's golden triangle, done in the only order that does not waste a kilometre. Bhubaneswar sits on the road home, 60 km short of Puri, so its temples and caves cost you almost no extra driving - which is why this package adds a whole day of sightseeing over the 3-day version for ₹4,000. Day two is Puri and its beaches, day three is Konark and the Marine Drive, and day four picks up Bhubaneswar on the way out. Build the Bhubaneswar day so it is not a Monday: Nandankanan, the Konark light-and-sound show and the Dhauli show are all closed that day.

Five days is where Odisha stops being a checklist. The extra day buys Chilika at Satapada - 48 km down the coast, where the lagoon meets the sea and the Irrawaddy dolphins live - and it takes the pressure off every other day, so Konark gets a morning rather than a slot and Bhubaneswar's old town gets more than a drive-past. It is the version we book most often for families travelling with parents, because nothing in it is rushed.
Every package and price
Each price is for the whole package, not per person, and covers the cab, fuel, tolls, parking, inter-state permits, driver allowance and 5% GST. Hotels and meals are excluded and priced honestly on each package page.
Packages by pickup city
