Deoghar + Basukinath from Jamshedpur, 2 Days - itinerary, price and pickup points

Starts in
Jamshedpur
Duration
2D/1N
Distance
690 km
Starts at
₹9,999
Best time to visit
October to March

The Deoghar tour package from Jamshedpur runs two days and about 690 km, covers Baba Baidyanath Dham, Basukinath and the Deoghar circuit, and starts at ₹9,999 for a sedan carrying four passengers, all-inclusive of fuel, tolls, parking, the West Bengal transit and driver allowance.

Jamshedpur is about 290 km from Babadham and the short road spends about 65 km of that inside West Bengal, around Balarampur and Purulia. Six and a half to seven hours each way is not a day trip by any honest measure - it would buy you two hours at a temple whose queue you cannot control - so we only sell Jamshedpur as two days. That buys the evening darshan on day one, when the queue is shortest, and leaves day two for Basukinath and the Deoghar circuit before the drive home.

What this package covers

  • Evening darshan at Baidyanath on day one, when the queue is shortest
  • Basukinath Dham on day two - the temple that completes the pilgrimage
  • Naulakha Mandir, Shivganga and Tapovan
  • Nandan Pahar for the sunset if the schedule allows
  • The West Bengal transit through Purulia handled on our permit, not your wallet

Frequently asked questions

Can Jamshedpur to Deoghar be done as a day trip?

It can be driven in a day, but Raahi Saarthi does not recommend it and does not promote it. Jamshedpur to Deoghar is about 290 km and six and a half to seven hours each way, so a same-day return is thirteen to fourteen hours in the car for about two hours at the temple, with no Basukinath and no margin if the queue is long. The two-day package at ₹9,999 for a sedan puts darshan on the evening of day one and covers Basukinath the next morning.

Does the Jamshedpur to Deoghar route go through West Bengal, and is there an extra charge?

Yes, about 65 km of the short route runs through Purulia district in West Bengal, and no, there is no extra charge. The inter-state transit is inside Raahi Saarthi's fixed fare along with fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance. Operators quoting a bare per-kilometre rate commonly add a 'state border charge' when the trip ends - that is the line item this fare is built to remove.

How far is Deoghar from Jamshedpur?

Deoghar is about 290 km from Jamshedpur, six and a half to seven and a quarter hours by cab. The road runs NH-18 through Chandil, Balarampur and Purulia, re-enters Jharkhand near Chandankiyari, and then follows the Dhanbad-Jamtara road that every Deoghar approach shares.

Where do you pick up from in Jamshedpur?

Anywhere in Jamshedpur and Adityapur at no extra charge - Bistupur, Sakchi, Kadma, Sonari, Telco, Golmuri, Mango, Dimna Road, Jugsalai, Gamharia or Tatanagar Junction. Give a landmark when booking and the driver reaches the door at 05:00.
