Deoghar + Basukinath from Bokaro - itinerary, price and pickup points
The Deoghar tour package from Bokaro Steel City covers Baba Baidyanath Dham and Basukinath in one 400 km day, takes about fourteen hours door to door, and starts at ₹5,299 for a sedan carrying four passengers, all-inclusive of fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance.
From Bokaro the day is longer than from Dhanbad but still fits inside one: 170 km up, both temples, and back the same night. The catch is the first 45 km, Chas to Dhanbad through the Jharia coal belt, which no route planner accounts for properly - coal trucks, dust and slow traffic around Sijua and Katras. We deal with it by leaving at 04:30, before the belt wakes up, which turns a four-hour drive into three and a half and buys the time back at the temple.
What this package covers
- Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga darshan by about 09:00
- Basukinath Dham - 45 km on, and the pilgrimage is held incomplete without it
- Naulakha Mandir and the Shivganga tank
- A pre-dawn start that clears the Jharia coal belt before it fills up
- Home in Bokaro the same night - no hotel bill

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Deoghar package from Bokaro cost?
Raahi Saarthi's Deoghar package from Bokaro Steel City starts at ₹5,299 for a sedan seating four, ₹6,799 for an Ertiga SUV, ₹7,999 for an Innova Crysta and ₹11,999 for a 12-seat Tempo Traveller. That is for the whole car for a full day including Baidyanath and Basukinath, all-inclusive of fuel, tolls, parking, driver allowance and 5% GST. It runs about ₹1,000 above the same package from Dhanbad, which is what the extra 40 km or so each way costs.
How long does the Bokaro to Deoghar drive actually take?
Three and a half to four and a quarter hours for the 170 km, and which end of that you get is decided almost entirely by the first 45 km. Chas to Dhanbad runs through the Jharia coal belt past Sijua and Katras, where coal-truck traffic can add forty minutes on its own. Leaving at 04:30 clears it before it fills, which is why our itinerary starts that early.
Is a two-day version available from Bokaro?
Yes, on request - we quote it when you call, and it lands a little under the Ranchi two-day package. It adds a night in Deoghar and picks up Tapovan, Nandan Pahar and the Trikut base, and it turns a fourteen-hour day into two easy half-days - which is the version we suggest if elderly parents are travelling. Ask for it when you book and we will send the itinerary and a fixed price.
Do you pick up from all the Bokaro sectors?
Yes - City Centre, Sector 4, any of the numbered sectors, Chas, Jodhadih More, the Bokaro Steel Plant main gate or Bokaro Steel City station, at no extra charge. Give the sector and a landmark when booking and the driver reaches your door rather than a common pickup point.
