Booking & payment
How do I book a cab in Ranchi with Raahi Saarthi?
You can book a Raahi Saarthi cab in Ranchi three ways: online at raahisaarthi.com/booking, on WhatsApp, or by calling the 24×7 dispatch line. Online bookings are confirmed by a callback within 10 minutes, and the driver's name and number reach you the night before the trip.
Is advance payment required to book a cab?
No advance payment is required for any standard Raahi Saarthi booking in Ranchi. You pay after the ride by UPI, debit or credit card, or cash. Multi-day tour packages during peak season (October to March) may need a small confirmation amount, which is adjusted against the final fare.
Can I cancel a cab booking, and is there a charge?
Raahi Saarthi cancellations are free up to 2 hours before the scheduled pickup. Cancelling inside that 2-hour window costs ₹200, and a no-show is charged one hour's fare at the booked car's rate. Multi-day packages cancelled inside 24 hours forfeit the confirmation amount.
Do you provide a GST invoice?
Yes, every Raahi Saarthi ride generates a GST invoice. Add your GSTIN in the notes field when booking and the invoice is issued in your company's name, which is what corporate accounts and reimbursement claims need. Monthly consolidated invoicing is available on corporate accounts.
How far in advance should I book?
For a city ride or an airport transfer in Ranchi, a few hours is usually enough and we can often confirm within 30 minutes. Outstation trips are best booked a day ahead. Netarhat, Betla and Deoghar packages on weekends between October and March should be booked one to two weeks ahead, and wedding fleets three to four weeks ahead.
Fares & pricing
Are Raahi Saarthi fares fixed or metered?
All Raahi Saarthi fares in Ranchi are fixed and all-inclusive - fuel, tolls, parking, state permits and driver allowance are built into the number you are quoted. There is no meter, no surge pricing, no night charge and no separate 'driver bhatta' added at the destination.
Do you charge extra at night?
No. Raahi Saarthi charges no night surcharge in Ranchi at any hour - a 02:00 airport pickup costs exactly what the same trip costs at 14:00. This matters most on early-morning flights and 04:00 train arrivals, which is when the alternative options get most expensive.
What is the taxi fare per km in Ranchi?
Raahi Saarthi's outstation per-kilometre rate from Ranchi is ₹11 for a hatchback, ₹12 for a sedan, ₹15 for an Ertiga SUV, ₹18 for an Innova Crysta and ₹26 for a 12-seater Tempo Traveller, with a 250 km minimum per day on multi-day trips. Inside Ranchi city we use fixed package rates rather than per-km billing, because packages work out cheaper for the customer.
What is the cab fare from Ranchi to Jamshedpur, Bokaro or Patna?
One-way Raahi Saarthi fares from Ranchi start at ₹2,099 to Jamshedpur (129 km), ₹2,199 to Bokaro (110 km), ₹2,899 to Dhanbad (160 km), ₹5,299 to Patna (330 km) and ₹7,999 to Kolkata (410 km). All are all-inclusive of fuel, tolls, parking, permits and driver allowance, with no return charge on a one-way booking.
Is GST included in the displayed fare?
Yes. Every fare shown on raahisaarthi.com is inclusive of the applicable 5% GST. The figure you see is the figure you pay - nothing is added at the end of the ride.
Do I pay for the cab's return journey on a one-way trip?
No. Raahi Saarthi quotes true one-way fares on every outstation route from Ranchi - you pay only for the direction you actually travel. Operators who bill a one-way drop at round-trip distance are charging you for an empty return leg; we fill ours with volume on the main corridors instead.
Airport & railway station
What is the cab fare from IXR airport to Ranchi city?
A Raahi Saarthi cab from Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) to anywhere in Ranchi city costs a flat ₹499 for a hatchback, ₹699 for a sedan, ₹999 for an Ertiga SUV and ₹1,499 for an Innova Crysta, including parking and the airport entry charge. The fare does not change by time of day.
How does an airport pickup at Ranchi work?
Raahi Saarthi tracks your flight number in real time, so the driver reaches Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) before your flight lands and waits at Gate 1 holding a placard with your name. You get 45 minutes of free waiting counted from your actual landing time, not the scheduled one, so a delayed flight costs nothing extra.
How far is Birsa Munda Airport from Ranchi city?
Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) is about 7 km from Ranchi city centre, 5 km from Ranchi Junction railway station and 4 km from Hinoo, which is the closest residential area. Allow 20 to 30 minutes by cab, and closer to 40 during the morning peak through Doranda.
Do you pick up from Ranchi Junction and Hatia railway stations?
Yes, 24×7 from both. A Raahi Saarthi cab from Ranchi Junction to anywhere in the city is a flat ₹399 for a hatchback and ₹549 for a sedan; from Hatia Junction it is ₹499 and ₹649. We track your train number against live running status, so a late train changes nothing and costs nothing.
Tour packages & destinations
What is the best tour package from Ranchi?
The Netarhat 2-day package from ₹6,499 is Raahi Saarthi's most-booked and the best first trip out of Ranchi, because it is the only itinerary that catches both the Magnolia Point sunset and Sunrise Point. For a single day, the three-waterfall tour covering Hundru, Jonha and Dassam from ₹2,999 is the best value.
Which is the closest hill station to Ranchi?
Netarhat is the closest and the only true hill station near Ranchi - 156 km west at 3,700 ft on the Chotanagpur plateau, about 4 hours 30 minutes by cab. Hazaribagh at 93 km sits on a 2,000 ft plateau and is the nearest hill-adjacent alternative if you only have a single day.
What are the best places to visit near Ranchi?
The most-visited places near Ranchi are Hundru Falls (45 km), Patratu Valley (40 km), Jonha Falls (40 km), Dassam Falls (40 km) and Netarhat (156 km). Within a four-hour radius you also have Betla National Park, Deoghar's Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, Parasnath Hill and Hazaribagh - which between them cover waterfalls, a tiger reserve, a hill station and two of India's major pilgrimage sites.
Can I customise a tour package?
Yes. Every Raahi Saarthi package is a template rather than a fixed product - add or drop a destination, change the car class, extend a night, and we requote a single fixed all-inclusive figure. Route changes inside the same kilometre band cost nothing extra.
What is the best time to visit Jharkhand?
October to March is the best time to visit Jharkhand - clear skies, daytime temperatures between 15°C and 28°C, and the safest road conditions on the ghat sections to Netarhat and Betla. The waterfalls are at their fullest from August to October, immediately after the monsoon, which is the trade-off: more water, more difficult access.
Cars, drivers & safety
What types of cars does Raahi Saarthi have?
Raahi Saarthi's Ranchi fleet has five classes: hatchback (WagonR, Swift, Celerio) for 4 passengers, sedan (Dzire, Etios, Aura) for 4, Ertiga and XL6 SUVs for 6, Innova Crysta and Hycross for 7, and 12-seater AC Tempo Travellers. Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Fortuner are available on request for weddings and VIP movement.
Are your drivers verified?
Yes. Every Raahi Saarthi driver is background-checked, holds a valid commercial licence, is uniformed, and speaks Hindi plus working English. On outstation routes we assign drivers who have run that specific road before - which matters on the Netarhat ghat and the Betla forest stretch far more than it does on a highway.
Can I track the cab during the journey?
Yes, every Raahi Saarthi cab is GPS-tracked and we share a live location link on WhatsApp for outstation and night trips. Families booking a cab for elderly parents or for a student's hostel drop use this most, and it is available on request for any booking at no charge.
Do you offer self-drive car rental in Ranchi?
No, Raahi Saarthi does not offer self-drive rental. Every car comes with a driver, which is why we take no security deposit and ask for no licence documentation. For visitors unfamiliar with the Patratu Ghati hairpins or the Netarhat forest road, a local driver is genuinely the safer arrangement.
Is a child seat available?
Yes, Raahi Saarthi provides a child safety seat on request at no extra charge, subject to availability - ask for it when booking rather than on the day, since we fit it before the cab leaves. Sedans and larger are recommended for a child seat; a hatchback rear bench gets tight with one fitted.
Service area
Which areas of Ranchi do you pick up from?
Raahi Saarthi picks up from every part of Ranchi - Lalpur, Hatia, HEC, Doranda, Hinoo, Kanke, Bariatu, Harmu, Argora, Ashok Nagar, Morabadi, Ratu Road, Kokar, Namkum, Dhurwa, Booty More, Main Road, Upper Bazar, Kadru, Chutia and Ormanjhi - plus all hospitals, hotels, Birsa Munda Airport and both railway stations.
Do you run cabs to Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh?
Yes. Raahi Saarthi runs regular outstation cabs from Ranchi to Patna, Gaya and Bodh Gaya in Bihar; Kolkata, Durgapur, Asansol and Purulia in West Bengal; Rourkela, Bhubaneswar and Puri in Odisha; Raipur and Bhilai in Chhattisgarh; and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The inter-state permit is arranged by us and included in the quoted fare, so nothing is payable at the border.
Can I book a cab from another city to Ranchi?
Yes. Raahi Saarthi runs one-way pickups to Ranchi from Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, Patna, Gaya, Kolkata and Rourkela, priced at the same true one-way rates as the outbound leg. The most common booking on these is a drop at Birsa Munda Airport (IXR), which we include at no extra charge.
Pilgrimage trips - Deoghar & Puri
Do you run Deoghar packages from cities other than Ranchi?
Yes. Raahi Saarthi sells Baba Baidyanath Dham packages picked up in Dhanbad from ₹4,299, Bokaro Steel City from ₹5,299, Ranchi from ₹6,499 and Jamshedpur from ₹9,999 - each priced on its own distance, and each starting at your own door rather than routing a Ranchi car across the state first. Dhanbad and Bokaro can cover Baidyanath and Basukinath in a single day; Ranchi and Jamshedpur need two to do both.
Is the Trikut ropeway in Deoghar running?
No. The Trikut Parvat ropeway has been closed since the accident of 10 April 2022, in which three people died and seventy-eight were stranded, and it was still closed through 2026 with no announced reopening. Fares and timings still shown on the operator's own website are stale, and most travel sites republish them. Raahi Saarthi does not sell or include a ropeway ride; the summit is reachable only by a climb of about two hours.
Can you arrange VIP or fast-track darshan at Baidyanath or Puri?
No, and Raahi Saarthi will not take money for it. At Baidyanath there is a Shighra Darshanam coupon sold offline at the temple administrative office - ₹300 on normal days and ₹600 on New Year and other special days (2025 rates), from a counter that opens at 08:00 - which you buy yourself; there is no verified official online booking, and during Shravani Mela 2026 the coupons were suspended on Sundays and Mondays with all VIP darshan abolished. At Puri the old ₹50 Parimanik darshan has been suspended since 2016 and no replacement is confirmed. The real fast track at both is arriving early, and our itineraries are built around that.
Are non-Hindus allowed inside the Puri Jagannath temple?
Entry inside Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri is restricted to Hindus and the restriction is enforced at the Singhadwara without exception. Visitors who are not admitted can take Patitapavana darshan of the deity's image from outside the Lion's Gate and view the temple from the Raghunandan Library rooftop opposite. Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar has the same rule with a viewing platform outside. Konark, the beaches, Chilika, Nandankanan, Udayagiri and Dhauli are open to everyone, so a mixed group still has a full itinerary - Raahi Saarthi states this at booking rather than letting anyone find out at the gate.
Is there an extra charge for taking a Jharkhand taxi into Odisha or West Bengal?
No. Raahi Saarthi runs inter-state trips on an All India Tourist Permit, and the permit cost sits inside the quoted fare along with fuel, tolls, parking, driver allowance and 5% GST - you never hand money to anyone at a check-post. This matters on two routes in particular: Ranchi to Puri crosses into Odisha, and the short Jamshedpur to Deoghar road spends about 65 km in West Bengal. Operators quoting a bare per-kilometre rate routinely exclude 'state border charges' and collect them when the trip ends.
When should we avoid travelling to Puri?
Two windows, and the first catches most people out. Anasara is the fortnight after Snana Yatra when the deities are moved out of view and there is no public darshan at Srimandir at all - in 2026 it ran 29 June to 14 July, and pilgrims traditionally go to Alarnath at Brahmagiri instead. The second is Rath Yatra itself, 16 July in 2026 and an expected 5 July in 2027, when Bada Danda and every approach road becomes a no-vehicle zone. October and November also carry genuine cyclone risk on the Odisha coast, so Raahi Saarthi writes an IMD-triggered reschedule into packages in those months.
